Chat Room

While Vital Manchester City's forums are on the blink I thought I would dust my blog down and bring it out of retirement.

Sunday Diary

The previous 12 hours have been, well to put it bluntly - erm, odd! The Vital Man City forums have turned into a mini battleground, but why?

Everyone has a point of view and as long as it's not abusive or offensive, my moderators and I allow the posts to remain. It's a pointless exercise deleting comments just because either I or a few others disagree. The whole point of message boards is to have your say, debate with others and then if necessary, agree to disagree. We then move on and put the debate behind us. It's just a pity a few more would take a leaf out of my book.

Twitter

The jury is out on this one. The principle behind it is okay, but like a twit, I downloaded my entire current and old address book. Now I have to read folks comments, who I thought I'd left well behind.

For those who weren't aware, I used to have a site on the Rivals Network but my ties with the said company, now Sky have long been severed. Pity really as before Sky bought out Rivals, the network, was one of the busiest out there. Now all one can see is tumbleweed. The network is a ghost of what it once was and in my opinion it's about time Sky closed it down. Many of the forum posters do nothing but swear and post abusive messages, and the actual site template is worse than the one you're looking at right now.

Today

I guess I'd better get my kitchen apron on as I have a whole leg of lamb to cook, plus the vegetables to prepare. The Mrs and I have our daughters and grandkids travelling down and they will expect one of dads special Sunday lunches. The nippers will be running around the house and will no doubt be up to mischief. Ah, it reminds me of when our two were little.

At least there is one consolation. I'll be drinking my fair share of wine and beer. Happy days.

Cheers everyone.

Clarification

If you are reading this then it is highly likely you are a Vital Manchester City member. Hello to all.

It appears I have stirred up an awful lot of debate over on our forums. This was not my intention but it’s done now and there is no going back. I hope that I have clarified my position and we can move on, albeit I’m more than happy to answer anyone’s questions, either on the boards or via PM (personal message) or email.

One of my questions was, “what do you think of my blogs layout.” Thanks for the feedback and in time, I’ll have a look and change some of the template. It’s easy to do but a tad time consuming and today is not a good day, especially as it’s Mothers Day and our house is going to be filled to the brim with our kids and grandchildren.

As I said before, I hope to use this site as an overspill, and in time, I will post live City games, but cannot do it today (see above).

I am aware of the possible consequences and if this site is closed down to due copyright and legal issues, then hey, so be it.

My loyalty is to Vital Manchester City - simples!!

Sorry but I couldn’t resist.

New Manchester City Blog Launches

After careful consideration I have decided to launch my very own Manchester City fans blog. By using this vehicle I will have the freedom to venture into completely new avenues, not normally open to me.

My current position as editor of Vital Manchester City will remain, however by using this service I hope to try something different.

One of my aims is to show live video content, preferably City games. I know it's a bone of contention to many but if the demand is there, I aim to please. In addition, one of my other aims to give a new City site a run for it's money. I read that they intend moving the earth in an effort to bring in members. Well, I might have something to say about that!

As editor to Vital Man City, and quite rightly so, I have to run the site by a set of ridged rules. I am not complaining, nevertheless this platform will allow me to be, well shall we say, push the boundaries a little.

This sites template is in it's infancy and no doubt in a few days I'll get bored and change it. If you want to have your say and you come up with a few ideas of your own, please feel free and let me know. In the meantime, I would really appreciate it if you would bookmark this page. Go on, you know you want to.
